Søfryd passive houses – social housing in Måløv for KAB

17.03.11

In a turnkey partnership with Jönsson A/S and JJW Architects Balslev is going to build 56 sustainable flats with solar energy, thermal heating and heat recovery

The new residential housing is built for Ballerup Ejendomsselskab, a part of  the social housing association KAB, and represents phase 3 of the Søfryd housing area West of Copenhagen.

Balslev is in charge of all engineering services incl. construction, construction management and environmental management.

A contributing factor to the choice of the project team's proposal is the fact that the housing is designed as socalled passive houses. This means that the energy consumption will be below 15 kWh/m2 per year, equivalent to ”low energy class 0”.

The low energy consumption and the classification as passive houses is achieved through a number of measures ensuring sustainability.
