Access control and burglary alarm systems

Balslev design and specify systems for access control and burglary alarm systems, plus CCTV and personal surveillance for both simple and complex buildings.

Our experts in this area have experience in design, engineering and implementation of security systems in connection with both new construction, modernisation and extension. Historically, we have distinguished between three different type of systems:

• Automatic intruder alarm systems (AIA-systems) including smoke protection systems are designed and installed according to guidelines from the Danish Insurance and Pension Association (Forsikring & Pension) to detect break-ins and attempted break-ins. Smoke generators are installed in rooms with high value items, like watch and jewellery stores plus facilities with IT equipment, for manufacturing, research and development etc.
• Access control systems (ACS-systems) are installed on the basis of a risk analysis and user requirements with regards to access and registration of people, who have permission to access different areas.
• Internal TV-surveillance system (ITV-systems) are normally installed on the basis of a risk analysis covering requirements, the system has to fulfil: observation, verification and identification. Read more about TV-surveillance
• Personal security systems, like personal alert systems for e.g. elderly and alert systems to protect bank and security personnel personal attack.

Based on our risk analysis, we decide the scope of the system and the quality of the products we recommend to include. When managing security projects, dialogue with end-users and closed co-operation with all parties involved are top priorities.

Integrated security system and other building installations

Due to new, evolvoing network technologies the boundaries between different types of systems are fading. On the other hand, systems are now more flexible, and the users experience more uniform user interfaces with a better overview.

Our customers often want interaction between the different types of systems for optimal security. Examples include lighting systems, where the light is automatically turned on when the system detects abnormal events, plus activation of smoke generators when the burglary alarms is set off.
